I think everyone sometimes needs a break from their main project. While I am making great progress on Starfleet Pilot, I wanted to try a small side-project while I was traveling, and I did not have all my tools with me. The goal was to a small prototype really quickly, and later make it to a final game in the least amount possible.

And this is how Make the Line! was born: I made a prototype in 2 days, and shown it to my family and friends. Then I spent around a month to get the graphics done (longest part), reimplement the prototype into a working game.

Here is how the game feels:

The rules are simple:

1. You move the marbles to build straight lines (horizontal, vertical or diagonal).
   1. You move marbles, by selecting a marble you want to move, and tapping on a green tile to confirm the destination.
2. You score when there are 4 or more marbles in a row of the same color (the more in-line the higher the score).
3. Each turn there are 2 new marbles appearing on the board.
4. There are limited-time premium marbles, that:
   1. will give you x10 to the line score if collected,
   2. as well as reduce the number of marbles spawned by one for each special marble.
5. You can see colors of the next marbles above the board.

I thought this small project would be a good testbed for learning how to do smooth animations and slick transitions.
